Animation “Age of Might”:
There is a life-size statue of a Giant deep in the Crystal Desert that needs to be excavated and brought to the grand Aristol Museum, Skarr City, Western Continent of Thuria. It is suspected this ancient carving dates back to the Age of Magic, when the world was young. Retrieving this statue, and all its fragments would be a monumental task of no little effort, giving insight to many particulars lost as the Age of Magic ended.

The team to take this Bounty will be given the charge of protecting the excavators from the highly superstitious indigents of the region. The fact that a large team of historians have never attempted this, and it is the one thing that stands in favor of a successful excavation . . . our arrival will be concealed as a peace mission.

Game Master: Beneath this desert lies the Labyrinth of Jarra. This region is filled with superstitious and hostile natives who worship this statue, whom they call Krall. This will no doubt cause difficulties with excavation, as well as the removal of the Artifact.

Animation “Age of War”:
At the Northern base of the Volanar Rim lies a broken castle, set heavily with the atrophy of twenty ages (1 age = 1,000 years). Within this decrepit stronghold of millennia past there are a number of Rock Golems, Stone Gargoyles, and other deadly animations still lying in wait to attack the unwary. By the high decree of the king of the Zurkel Mainland, I hereby call a band of sturdy adventurers to travel into the north, to eradicate these abominations. Great honor will be mantled upon the head of any who undertake this task.
Within this area are set Vampiric Wards which must be destroyed. These Wards are powerful enchantments, meant to stay the advance of the Ardenoth in particular. All Wards must be destroyed. The exact location of each Ward is unknown. Search the ruins thoroughly, especially the dungeons below.

Bounty Contact: King Nishane Asmond of Wardenoth Citadel (Gaunten), Zurkel Mainland. If you are accepted for this mission, you will need to meet with Count Valisar to launch this Bounty.

Note: It is likely some or all may not return to collect this Bounty. Be warned this task is of a critical nature. Do not undertake it lightly.

Game Master: This land lies under the jurisdiction of one Count Valisar, an ancient Vampire - an Ardenoth of true race vampiric decent. In working with him on this Bounty, he and I have come to an agreement in allowing safe passage through his land in the attempt to raze this decaying city to the ground. Think not of the Undead at the mention of Ardenoth Vampire. Count Valisar is as living as my own people of Gaunten. He is a prince of Vampires and will be treated with respect, and honored as is the king of the Zurkel Mainland. Earn his trust, and he will aid you in this endeavor.

Reward: 10,000 gold will be credited to those whose succeed. With this money, you will be allowed entrance into Count Valisar’s personal treasury, wherein you may purchase what you will with the credited gold earned. If wish it, you may also keep the money if you are so inclined (you will be on your own in transporting such wealth). This money will be given to the survivors of this Bounty in a victory celebration.

Task Requirements: I will interview those who wish to attempt this endeavor before sending you out. If I feel you are not worthy for this challenge, you will be denied task. Proof of your skills must be shown before this Bounty may be taken. Those who are not sanctioned to take on this task, go without my approval, without the reward offered, and will be in trespass on Valisar’s land. Valisar has offered a grand dinner and celebration in your honor upon completion of this task. Before entering into his lands, build four bonfires, spread evenly apart. Grave (Sleeper’s):
The ancestral grave of one of my relatives keeps being disturbed. At first, I thought it was vandals, and so I camped out in secret, waiting to catch the perpetrator. As I watched the grave, it moved on its own. I don’t mean the grave itself moved, but that the soil began to be displaced. The headstone fell back, the grass covering the grave stretched and tore. Then, just as I thought some abomination would burst forth from beneath the surface of the ground, it stopped, leaving the grave unsettled once again. I have not returned to the cemetery since then. I would like it very much if someone could help me with this problem. It scares me.

I need someone to go into the Haunted Forest for three days and three nights. While you are within this uncanny place, I need you to contact a deceased spirit, a man by the name of Aldor. Once you have his attention, break the seal of the scroll I will give you, unroll it, then show him the writing on the parchment. Do not read it. This is for him, and him alone. I will send you in with this sealed scroll to open and show the spirit summoned. I need you to do this with no other questions asked.

Bounty Contact: Jerika Erolisi
Note: Read this to the players if they accept this bounty: Jerika gives you a single white candle, with Aldor’s name etched into it. “This is a Spirit Candle. Light it when it becomes totally dark, and it will most likely attract Aldor to you. If it does not attract Aldor, when the light of day begins to drive away the darkness of night, extinguish the candle. There is enough candle here to burn in this manner for three nights. You must remember to extinguish it when the day begins to lighten the forest. Do not speak with Aldor. Just show him the writing on the scroll. Once Aldor reads it, burn the scroll with flame from the Spirit Candle. Once this is done, Aldor will escort you out of the Haunted Forest. If you do not show Aldor the scroll - once you summon him - he will become agitated, and will most likely attack. There is no need for confrontation. Simply show him the writing on the scroll. A warning I give you: Do not read the scroll.
Game Master: The Spirit Candle will have a 95% chance of summoning Aldor, and no other spirit. Once Aldor reads the scroll, and after it is consumed by the Spirit Flame of the candle, the candle will turn to a white mist and fade away. Aldor will then beckon the company to follow him back out of the forest to safety. He will not leave the forest. If the party does not leave, they will be attacked by Aldor on the following night. He will attempt to destroy them, and will have no mercy.

Note: By lighting this candle, the party will be protected from all encounters during the night. During the day, The Haunted Forest is nothing more than a common forest, with common encounters. She will have her servants watch over the group by day, not allowing anything to come in-between her and the success she seeks. Lesser encounters, such as what can be defeated, will be allowed to challenge the party. If the party begins to fall, Jerika’s servants will secretly intervene, remaining unseen if at all possible. If they are discovered by the party, they will portray themselves as a band of adventurers passing though. They will then leave.

Haunted House:
I need someone to enter into an abandoned house that is possessed by the spirit of a long since dead woman. I have a ghost trap, and need it taken into the house and set. I will need you to stay as long as it takes to snare her. I do not want her harmed in any way. She is lost, and I wish to return her to her rightful place, so she can move on.

Bounty Contact: Jerika Erolisi
Note: Game Master: Jerika Erolisi is an advanced Spiritualist who has been having others do her dirty work for her (this is her safety net). It is not her intention to harm anyone, but she will not chance failure in this task (she has long prepared for this).

Once she has possession of the spirit she needs, she will take it into the Haunted Forest and release it in the presence of Aldor. This will happen only if the Haunted Forest bounty is successfully fulfilled.

The bounty for the Haunted Forest is this: The spirit will read a bargain she wishes to make. If Aldor agrees (and he will – this woman captured is Aldor’s long lost love, for whom he has desperately sought for nearly 20 ages). The bargain includes safe passage through the Haunted Forest forever. By agreeing to Jerika’s terms, Aldor will be 100% bound to honor it (this is the power of the contract he will read and agree to). In return, Jerika will return his long lost love to him.

What will Jerika get out of this?: She will have access the Morish Catacombs which lie deep beneath the center of the Haunted Forest. Within these deadly catacombs there lies a tome she wishes to take for herself. Aldor will escort her safely into the tome to retrieve the book of spells. He will then bring her back out of the Haunted Forest. He will protect her. The reason Erika will only recruit a low level party is due to a higher level party discovering the catacombs and getting the tome for themselves. This would undermine her life’s work.

Aldor is a bloodline prince; an heir to a fallen kingdom, vanquished during the Age of War He is powerful. Within this tome are written spells unknown to mankind – powerful spells. Jerika is merely attempting to increase her power. She is of a true and neutral temper, and wishes to do her work in the world of spirits undisturbed. She is not a double crossing witch. She is being fair in this deal. In fact, if the party does their best to complete this bounty, she will give them x10 the reward. She will even pay to have fallen party members resurrected. If Jerika succeeds in gaining possession of this tome (The Tome of The Dead), she will be well on her way to incredible power.

Plague Seeds:
A reconnaissance team has reported the existence of Plague Seeds within the kingdom. While most of these accursed seeds have been captured, there is a danger that not all have been collected.

When planted and watered, each seed will sprout. After nine days, each seed will form into a sturdy plant, a foliage of considerable durability. Once matured (on the beginning of the tenth day), the hollow, oval, center of each plant will be filled with a plane gate, bridging the plane or dimension the seed was planted within with the Underworld. If you are of level head, I believe you see the danger. This gate is permanent, but can only be destroyed by damaging spells and highly enchanted weapons.

Game Master: After a Plague Gate has matured (on the 10th day) it will heal at a rate of 5-D20 per turn. As you can see, they are difficult to destroy.

Rescuing The Figment:
There is a realm of intelligence, wherein pure thought flows. A creature of pure thought is called a Figment. Every now and then a Figment will be allowed to temporarily come to the Earthen Plane in the body of a mortal, to preform a test a worthiness. If this test is passed, the Figment will be granted the status of becoming a living soul, an enchantment, an organic, or whatever it desires. It can be anything. This rare and wondrous creature is tried in the furnaces of affliction, to show its master it will subject itself to anything in order to earn the reward of life.

A certain Figment has been captured. Why, I do not know. I feel strongly that it should be allowed to continue on its path, so that it can finish the course of its test.

This Figment can be found deep within the Dolmen`Barrow Catacombs which lies two moons to the east, within the Rot`Wood Marshes. I have a map that will guide you to this terrible place. I do not have a map of the Dolmen`Barrow Catacombs themselves.

Translation:
“We smash building not many days! Battle with us!”

This note was written in the language of the Ogre, and signed with six different signatures. Each signature is in the hand of various monsters (Ogre, Orc, Troll, Kobold, Goblin and Gnoll).

We need help in defending this tower. It is sturdy, but ill-manned to meet such an attack. It has the following defenses: 1 ballista, 2 archers, 2 warriors, a small mote with a drawbridge. This has never happened before. We did nothing to provoke such an attack. This tower was built at a crossroads to ensure the safety of merchants and travelers. Within the base of this tower is a well established inn.

Note: Game Master: Seven days after this bounty is accepted, the attack will come. It will be during the night, just as the full moon reaches its zenith.
